Ultimate Encounters- Snorkel with Sharks

Snorkeling with Sharks in your vacation in the Fiji Islands is surely the experience of a lifetime. Yes, no cages, no aquarium, just you and the kings of the ocean.

How does Ultimate Encounters - Snorkel with Sharks work?
Necessary transportation arrangements are made to get you from wherever you are in the Fiji Islands to transport you to Denarau Marina. At the Marina, you board the Yasawa Flyer, the luxurious high-speed vessel that offers you the premium experience. The Yasawa flyer has a bar offering coffee, an air-conditioned lounge and two large observation decks. You disembark at the Kuata Island, which is the closest of the Yasaww Islands to Nadi. You get to enjoy a warm welcome at the Kuata Island where you get necessary briefing on the steps to follow after which you are then transported to the Sharks reef site.

The time of departure often varies based on the tides and conditions of the sea.

Safety?
At the briefing, you would be informed on all necessary safety instructions from experienced guides who have become familiar with the school of sharks. The guides would also go in the water with you to ensure your safety throughout the experience.

What type of sharks will I see?
Only two main species are involved in the course of the encounter; White Tip Reef Sharks and Black Tip Reef sharks. The two species are the most common in the tropical warm waters of the South Pacific waters. For the two species, a shark can grow to a length of over 1.5 meters. Although they tend to appear larger under water.

In the course of the encounter, you can see up to about five sharks. It is on few occasions that you see up to six sharks. Both species of sharks prefer exploring shallower waters, so you might even get to see the sharks before getting into the water.

Not a Good Swimmer?
For tourists that are not confident in their abilities as swimmers, buoyancy aids are provide. Also, considering that the shallow waters are being explored, there is often no need to go to the deep end of the waters.

Although, it is not always sure that Sharks would be sighted but there is a 95% success rate. You also get a refund in case you do not sight a Shark in your Ultimate Encounter- Snorkel with Sharks.
